For this day, Visual Greatness has a special surprise for you, as we interviewed Tahja, an amazing female artist who started drawing when she was just 3 years old!

Hey Tahja, when did you start making art? What inspires you?

I’ve been doing art my whole life and started selling professionally as a teen. Colors and nature inspire me and incorporating natural materials into the pieces. although I create for the sake of creating I’ve also been selling art professionally for over 10 years. Each piece I create is born from a place of positive intention and is meant to convey a certain feeling or emotion from a inherent in the environment which inspired the piece..

What is your day job- or is art your day job?

In the day time I run a workforce development program to help stimulate the local job markets.

What would you like people to know most about you?

I come from a family of artists and first years of life were spent in family art gallery. In my spare time I love philanthropy and teaching community art classes.
I also have a passion for travel and bringing art workshops into communities where there may not be access. I’ve always taken my art wherever i go, for example While living in China I taught art to primary school children and also took art supplies. Further whenever I travel to other countries and meet host families I create a customized piece of my art as a diplomacy gift.
My goal is not only to create art but to co-create within communities to bring about healing, consciousness and empowerment.
